A streamlined version of homemade fajitas combining sizzling steak, colorful peppers, and fragrant spices, ideal for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Tortillas for serving
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, salsa, avocado

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the sliced steak, bell pepper, onion, olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly on a sheet pan.
  4. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until the steak is cooked and vegetables are tender.
  5. Let it rest for a few minutes after removing from the oven.
  6. Serve the fajitas in warm tortillas with optional toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the steak for a few hours or overnight. You can swap out the steak for chicken, shrimp, or make it vegetarian with mushrooms or tofu.
