A quick and delicious Mongolian beef recipe, featuring tender flank steak in a sweet-salty sauce.

  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 23 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Coat the beef: Toss the sliced flank steak with cornstarch until well coated.
  2. Heat the skillet: In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Stir-fry the beef: Add the beef to the skillet and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Mix the sauce: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  5. Combine beef and sauce: Pour the sauce over the beef in the skillet and stir to coat.
  6. Final cook: Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Toss in green onions: Toss in the sliced green onions for a fresh crunch.
  8. Serve and garnish: Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
