A rustic dessert featuring a flaky crust and a sweet-tart filling of mixed berries, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mixed berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (plus extra for sprinkling)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the mixed berries, 1 tablespoon sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Gently toss until the berries are well coated.
  3. Roll out the pre-made pie crust on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, creating a large circle that suits the size of your galette.
  4. Place the berry mixture in the center of the crust, leaving about a 1.5-inch border around the edges.
  5. Fold the edges of the crust over the berry filling, allowing the middle to remain exposed.
  6. Brush the exposed crust edges with the beaten egg and sprinkle a little sugar over the crust.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the berries are bubbling joyfully.
  8. Allow the galette to cool slightly before slicing into it.

Notes
