Delicious and versatile Korean beef wrapped in fresh lettuce leaves, perfect for a quick dinner or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup carrot, shredded
  • 1 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1 head of lettuce (such as Bibb or Romaine)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes; cook for 2-3 minutes until well combined.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in shredded carrots and sliced green onions.
  4. Serve spooning the beef mixture into lettuce leaves, garnish with sesame seeds, and enjoy!

Notes

For a leaner option, use ground turkey or chicken. Feel free to use different vegetables like bell peppers or water chestnuts.
