A comforting bowl of savory beef over fluffy rice, perfectly seasoned with soy sauce and sesame oil, topped with fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • Green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned. Make sure to stir occasionally until it’s fully cooked through. Once brown, drain the excess fat.
  2. Combine the Flavorful Elements: Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger until everything is well combined. Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully together.
  3. Steam Your Veggies: In a separate pot, steam the broccoli florets and julienned carrots until they become tender yet still vibrant and crunchy. This should take around 5 minutes.
  4. Serve Up the Goodness: To serve, place a generous scoop of cooked white rice in a bowl, then top it with the savory beef mixture. Add the steamed vegetables on top, and finish with a sprinkle of sliced green onions and sesame seeds for that extra flair.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop with a splash of water to keep the rice moist.
