Delicious and nutritious turkey burgers made with fresh ingredients, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Olive oil (for grilling)
  • Whole wheat buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and avocado (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Combine the ingredients in a large bowl, mixing together the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, and onion powder until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into patties, about 1/2 inch thick, until all the mixture is used up.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat and lightly coat with olive oil.
  4. Grill the burgers for about 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and no longer pink in the center, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  5. Serve the turkey burgers on whole wheat buns with fresh lettuce, tomato slices, and avocado.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing patties in advance and chilling until ready to grill. For extra flavor, consider incorporating spices or vegetables into the mixture.
