A healthier twist on a classic apple crisp, packed with flavor and nostalgia, perfect for celebrating fall.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of sliced apples
  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup of melted coconut oil or unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss the sliced apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Place the apple mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. Mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, and melted oil until crumbly.
  5. Spread the oat mixture evenly over the apples.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top if using.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes
