Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
Tear stale bread into bite-sized pieces and place in a large mixing bowl.
Whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg in another bowl. Pour over the bread and stir gently. Let soak for 30 minutes.
Stir in raisins.
Transfer to the greased baking dish and evenly distribute.
Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and the center is set.
While baking, prepare the whiskey sauce by combining whiskey, sugar, and butter in a saucepan and simmering until thickened.
Serve warm bread pudding drizzled with whiskey sauce.
