Ingredients

  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the cherry pie filling into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cherry filling.
  4. Drizzle melted butter over the top of the cake mix.
  5. If you’re feeling adventurous, sprinkle chopped nuts over the butter.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Grease your baking dish well to prevent sticking. You can substitute half of the butter with applesauce for a lighter dessert.
