A quick and flavorful blackened salmon recipe with a smoky crust and tender, flaky texture.

  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the spice mixture: In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Coat the salmon fillets evenly with the spice mixture.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  4. Sear the salmon fillets for about 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through and blackened.
  5. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Don’t skimp on seasoning and be mindful of the heat to prevent burning.
