Baked ziti is the ultimate comfort food, combining creamy ricotta, rich meat sauce, and gooey cheese for a heartwarming dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef or sausage and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper into the meat until well mixed.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, meat sauce mixture, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C).
